Admission requirements

A BComHons degree in Management Accounting or similar degree from another university plus any additional preparatory work approved by Senate for this purpose.

Further requirements

Academic achievement in Management Accounting as subject and in general at postgraduate level during previous studies (minimum of 60%) is required. Registration as chartered management accountant with CIMA (or an equivalent appropriate professional registration) is required.

Prior to admission to the Master’s programme, the student must have knowledge of research methodology, including, where applicable, quantitative empirical research methods. The programme coordinator may require the student to complete appropriate methodology modules prior to commencing with the programme.

Assessment and examination

The thesis and related article publishable in an accredited journal are assessed according to the requirements set by the School of Accountancy as agreed with the student.

Programme content

A minimum of 180 credits.

A research project according to the requirements set by the School of Accountancy, consisting of a thesis and a related article publishable in an accredited journal.

Students must attend a writing skills workshop about writing a research proposal, presented by the Language Centre.
