The study of Information Technology (IT) at this level aims to address and equip students with advanced knowledge and skills in the Information Technology discipline. Students will be able to analyse, design and implement IT solutions to make meaningful contributions to the industry and national development, by ensuring optimal utilisation of IT resources. Various career opportunities exist, depending on the subject specialisation selected. Student can choose to strengthen their existing knowledge and skills in either Networking, Software Development or User Support Management.

Purpose of the Learning Programme
This programme has been approved in terms of the new Higher Education Qualification Sub-Framework (HEQSF).

The study of Information Technology at this level aims to address and equip students with the theoretical knowledge as well as practical skills to design and implement IT solutions to problems. Security is a key element in any IT solution and this qualification will equip the student with the necessary knowledge to secure infrastructure as well as include security in the design and implementation of IT solutions.

Duration: 
The qualification shall extend over a minimum of one year of full-time study.
